　　在对否认的陈述句做出简短的回答时， 咱们通常用 why not ? 不用 why? 。 试比较

　　They've decided to move to Devon. ~~~ why？

　　他们已经决定搬到德文了。～～为何？

　　Ｉcann't manage tomorrow evening. ~~ Why not? 

　　明天晚上我作不到。~~ 为何不行。 

　　Why not ? 也能够用来表示赞成一项建议。

　　Let's eat out this evening. ~~ Yes, why not ?

　　我们今晚出去吃吧。~~ 好啊， 干嘛不去呀？

2. why should ... ?

　　why 后面跟 should 的结构能够表示惊奇。

　　I woulder why she should want to go out with me.

　　我奇怪她为何要跟我交往。

　　这一结构也能够表示生气或拒绝作某事。

　　I don't see why we should have to pay for  your mistake.

　　我不懂为何咱们必须为你的错误付出代价。
