1. 习惯于

be used to　　　　be accustomed to

eg: I'm used to loneliness. / 我已习惯孤独

　   He is accustomed to hard work.  / 他习惯艰苦工做

　   She used to make a speech in public. / 她过去习惯于在大众下发表演讲。    注意这里的 used to 表示的是过去习惯于，不是“曾经”的意思。若是想要表达过去曾经作过什么，用的应该是once,ever。

2. pick up steam

虽然百度了下，时提高速度和实力的意思。好比飓风正在逐渐加强，he hurricane is picking up steam. 可是感受翻译成局势越愈演愈烈，战斗白热化这样也是能够的

3. for goodness sake

sake [n.缘故;理由;日本米酒;目的]

for Christ's, God's, goodness', heaven's, pity's, etc. sake （强调重要或表示恼火）看在上帝份上，天哪，行行好吧，千万 

for the sake of sb/sth  /  for sb's/sth's sake　　为了某人（或某事）起见；因某人（或某事）的缘故

4. handful

少数，少许;一把（的量）;难以控制的人（或动物）;棘手事

Only a handful of people came./只有少数几我的来了.　　Her children can be a real handful./她的孩子们有时很难管教。

5. help out

I help out with the secretarial work./我帮着作些秘书工做

（使）从事，参加 
to take part in sth; to make sb take part in sth

Even in prison, he continued to engage in criminal activities.

他甚至在监狱里还继续从事犯罪活动。

She tried desperately to engage him in conversation .

她用尽办法要他跟她谈话。

8. commensurate adj. 相称的；同量的；一样大小的　　eg: Is it commensurate with the need and challenge that we face? /与咱们面临的需求和挑战是否相称？

9. commitment  n. 承诺，保证；委托；承担义务；献身　　eg: But I do expect some commitment to reinforce coordination. /但我认为会作出一些承诺以增强协调。

10. prevail 英 /prɪ'veɪl/   vi. 盛行，流行；打败，获胜   

eg:  His case did not prevail in the courts, but his sentiment found support in the Legislature and the press. /他的诉讼案没有在法庭上获胜，可是他的观点在立法机关和新闻界里找到了支持

         sentiment: n. 感情，情绪；情操；观点；多愁善感 　　 Legislature:  n. 立法机关；立法机构      press: vt. 压；按；逼迫；紧抱,vi. 压；逼；重压,n. 压；按；新闻；出版社；[印刷] 印刷机

　　  Similarly, more open technology could also still prevail in the mobile industry. /相似的, 更多的开放技术能够在移动业流行开来.
