1. in 和 for.

in 和 for 表示在整个过程当中扮演的角色时，一般 in 表示该事物扮演的不是最主要的核心的角色，而是其中之一。for 则表示是主要角色。例如：

Though surveillance cameras are important tools for monitoring and deterring crime and even searching for disaster victims, wecannot ignore the threat they pose to human rights. 

用 in 在语法上不会有错误，可是用 for 表示前面在后面扮演主要角色。用 in 则表示是角色之一。
