1. RPM
RPM(RedHat Package Manager)，顾名思义是 RedHat 的软件包管理器。它遵循 GPL 规则且功能强大好用，从而逐渐运用到其它 Liunx 发行版中，包括 Fedora，CentOS 等。经过 RPM 能够很方便的查询，升级和安装软件包。
厂商提供软件时，会预先将软件编译打包成 RPM 包，其中包含预先检测系统和依赖软件的脚本等。用户使用对应的 RPM 包安装软件，在安装时 RPM 首先检测用户环境，依赖软件是否安装等信息，检测经过即开始安装软件。软件安装完成后，软件的相关信息会写到 /var/lib/rpm 目录下的数据库文件中，之后对软件的操做都会先到这个数据库文件中查询。
2. RPM 命令
以安装 xterm 软件为例，介绍 RPM 命令。
RPM 查询：

RPM 验证：
前面提到软件完成以后，软件信息会记录到 /var/lib/rpm 目录下的数据库文件中。若是更改软件相关文件或者删除软件相关配置文件时，经过 RPM 命令的 -V 选项便可验证软件的哪些文件改动了，验证的方式就是将当前系统软件文件与数据库文件进行比较。

能够看到，验证的输出有 S.5....T. 8 个字符，其中每一个字符表示的意思是：
S： 文件的容量被改变；
M： 文件的类型被改变；
5： MD5 码被改变；

G： 文件的所属用户组被改变；

另外，第二项的 d 表示文件的类型是文档，除了 d 还有 c 表示配置文件，l license 文件，r readme 文件， g ghost 文件。
除了上面验证文件更改的方式，还有一种用数字证书 (gpg-key) 验证 rpm 包的方式。厂商发布 RPM 包时，会将 RPM 包的公钥提供给用户，用户在安装 RPM 包时， rpm 命令会将此公钥与 RPM 包的密钥信息做对比，若是一致，则予如下载，反之则给予警告并中止安装。

RPM 卸载要注意考虑软件依赖性问题，从上到下依次卸载！
固然，RPM 的缺点也是很明显的，如前说述，安装 RPM 包时，RPM 会去检查软件的依赖 rpm 包，若是依赖包没有安装则中止安装软件。须要将依赖的软件包事先装好，而后才能安装，很麻烦。为了解决这种依赖包安装的问题，YUM 在线升级安装的机制就应运而生。
3. YUM

同使用 RPM 安装 xterm 软件的方式相似，这里使用 yum 的方式安装软件 xterm:

yum clean all 以后再下载软件包速度会变慢，由于缓存被清掉了。第二次再下载 xterm 包的时候速度就会快不少，由于这时候有缓存了。同时，第一次下载软件包的时候，相应的依赖包也会下载，remove 软件包 xterm 时，依赖包并无 remove，因此第二次安装时只须要安装一个 xterm rpm 包便可。
7. YUM 配置
前面 yum repolist 列了好几个 repo，那么这些 repo 是在哪里配置的呢？
YUM 的 repo 配置是在 /etc/yum.repos.d/ 文件夹下配置的，文件下的 repo 文件以 .repo 结尾：

各参数的意义以下：
rhel-server： repo 的 id，中括号不能少。id 是惟一的，不然 yum 不知道该用哪一个 id 下载软件包和清单列表。
name： repo 的名字。
baseurl： 后接的是固定的 repo 地址，baseurl 能够接多个 url 地址，参数 failovermethod 设置多个 url 的策略，它有两个值 priority 和 roundrobin，priority 表示根据 url 顺序从第一个开始选，roundrobin 则是随机选择 url，若是链接失败了则选下一个。
enable： repo 是启动的，让 repo不启动可将 enable 设为 0。
gpgcheck： 是否验证 RPM 证书，设为 0 表示不验证，设为 1 则表示验证证书，同时使用 gpgkey 参数指明须要验证的证书位置。
mirrorlist： 列出容器使用的镜像网址，yum 会自行取找镜像网址。
exclude： 指定的软件不能升级和安装，* 表示通配符。
除了 repo 的配置文件以外，还有一个 YUM 的配置文件 yum.conf，在 /etc/ 目录下：

主要参数意义以下：
cachedir： yum 缓存的目录，在此目录下存下载的 rpm 包和数据库（yum 的数据库和 rpm 的数据库是有关联的，yum 下载的软件包使用 rpm 命令也能够 list 出来）。默认配置为 /var/cache/yum。
keepcache： 安装完成是否保留软件包，0 为不保留，1 为保留。
exactarch： 值为 1，则 yum 只会安装和系统架构匹配的软件包。例如，yum 不会将 i686 的软件包安装在 i386 的系统架构中。反之设为 0 则会安装。
logfile： yum 日志文件位置。
obsoleters： 设为 1 则表示容许更新老的 RPM 包。
gpgcheck： 作证书验证。
plugins： 是否启用插件， 1 表示启用。
pkgpolicy：若是设置了多个 repository，而同一软件在不一样的 repository 中同时存在，yum 应该安装哪个。可经过 pkgpolicy 指定，它有两个值 newest 和 last，newest 表示 yum 会安装最新的版本。若是是 last 的话，yum 会将服务器 id 以字母表顺序排序，而后选择最后的那个服务器上的软件安装。若是软件的版本在多个 repo 中都是同样的，yum 只会列出一个 repo 的软件。
YUM 中的变量：
